The display of Aurora 101 at CSIRO Molecular Science marks the end of Aurora's program for 1999-2000. Since winning the World Solar Challenge in October 1999, Aurora has participated in events and exhibitions as described in this Section. Some 850,000 people in Germany and Australia have seen the Aurora 101 Solar Car in this period.
Aurora Vehicle Association Inc is now undertaking a new program for 2001-2002 which includes defending its "world championship" title at the next World Solar Challenge, which starts in Darwin, Australia on 18 November 2001.
Aurora 101 was on display at this exhibition, which was attended by 35,000 people.
Aurora team members Julia Blackham and Brad Trewin were competing for a prize in the Young Engineer category at the SAE-A conference. The Society of Automotive Engineers, Australasia are a sponsor of Aurora 101 and featured a cover story on Aurora during 1999.
