In late December the team attempted to break three records with three separate vehicles. Aurora 101 tried to better its world mark of 1701km in 24 hours, Aviva Southern Aurora aimed to beat its own best of 1339km in 24 hours and Christine - running without a solar panel - was targeting the record distance for an electric car of 769km. The results were mixed and there were kangaroos involved. |

Aurora 101 recorded a superb 3rd place in the challenge class. Averaging 85km/h, the new solar car was hot on the heels of the eventual winner Nuna, from the Netherlands, (90.9km/h) and the Umicore team from Belgium (88.1km/h). The team is also proud to have picked up the 'Spirit of the Event' award. |
